Job Summary:
This person will be responsible for delivering material to customer job sites. This will include onsite forklift operating, some dropping of lumber orders, and loading & unloading orders with millwork. You must be courteous and professional in communicating with our customers. There will be some building loads for deliveries and maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized lumber yard; loading and unloading of lumber and/or building supplies, and operating a forklift.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Load, secure, unload trucks in a safe manner.
- Quickly and accurately check the accuracy after unloading.
- Photo document delivered a load
- Communicate with the dispatcher on any issues
- Operate a forklift or pallet jack safely and efficiently.
- Process all damage claims according to store policy and maintain related paperwork.
- Follow up on all damage claims and returns to the Retail Support Center in a timely manner.
- Manage proper maintenance of all company delivery vehicles and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Truck drivers must have valid state-issued Class B or Class A driver's licenses and a safe driving record.
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
- Able to walk, reach, and bend to perform job duties.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to wear a back belt at all times and use proper lifting techniques.
- Able to operate heavy machinery.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Ability to communicate, relate well, and direct the work of others.
- Ability to solve problems, work independently, and check accuracy.
